Ragini’s POV
Lucky called me and told the bet is off or that he wouldn’t even care about it that night”.
“Really?”, I asked knowing it is true, but wanting to hear it.
“Yes. The first place as to why this bet between me and Lucky started is because…. I don’t even know how to say and where to start”, he said running a hand through his hair.
“From the beginning”, I said he nodded before telling.
“You remember you joined our school in sixth grade…. or is it seventh grade, I don’t remember”,he frowned.
“It’s seventh”, I informed.
“Oh yes. Seventh grade and since then, he started having a crush on you. Slowly that became big. I should say really big. The years passed and it was almost the last year of senior high. He still didn’t talk to you. One day we all friends were talking about you both and argued. They said that he will not fall for you, but I know him well and yes he fell. I made a bet with him that he should make you fall for him before the end of graduation, so that he will come close to you and tell you what he feels. That’s what happened. He won. But it is not about winning. It’s about you two. I know that the bet is stupid and all, but at the end we wanted you both together”, he explained. I nodded my head understanding.
“I am telling you all this because I want you both back again. What happened to you both? You are in your own world thinking about the bet. He is in his, wanting you back. You both never talked things out and I am sure about it.I know that you still love him. Don’t leave him again. He will not be able bear it”, he said calmly.
“I will not”, I told him wiping my tears as they kept streaming down. Cause I can’t bear it too.
“Good. Now go and get him .”, he said smiling at me. I laughed from my tears.
“I will”, I said sincerely and tears still fell.
“Clean your face and go. You look like zombie. Not that you look any Better always, but still!!!”, he teased. I hit his arm playfully and laughed. He was about to go out of the bathroom, but I stopped him.
“Bhai, how will I know that this is all not a bet agian? Why should I trust you?”, I asked as he turned to me. I know I am being rude again, but I don’t want my heart to break again.
“You know I am telling the truth. But if you still don’t trust me, take a look in his eyes. I am sure you will see pure love and you will know that you can trust him this time. Have faith “, he said before leaving. I turned back to the sink.I love you Lucky . I made you go through so much and played the victim part when it was you who got hurt. I left you and you still loved me. U kept waiting for me.U searched for me. I was just being mean to U and …. I am such a bad girl friend! I will not leave you this time.Thinking that, I cleaned my face from any traces of tears and wiped my face with. I heaved a sigh before looking at myself in the mirror. I took a deep breathe while closing my eyes and let it out while opening my eyes.I can do this.With that thought, I walked out ofthe washroom, only to bump into someone at the door. I looked up to see Lucky . He looked worried.
” Lucky ?”, I asked confused as to why he is here.
“Cutie Pie, are you okay?”, he asked pulling me out.
“Yes, I am. In fact I am more than okay. Why? Is everything okay?”, I asked as he looked so worried.
“Why did you take so much time in bathroom? I thought something happened to you”, he said cupping my right cheek.
“You worry too much Lucky . I am completely fine”.
“Good. Let’s go. It’s almost evening and I should drop you home. I want to spend some time with my family and I guess you too. So we’ll leave in some days.”, Lucky said taking my hand and pulling me with him.
“But at least let me say bye to your family.”, I said while walking with him.
“No need. I already told them on your behalf.”, he informed. He entwined our fingers.
I grinned.I feel so happy. It’s like the pressure on my heart is lifted and now…. all I want to do is love Lucky . So much. I will show him how much I loved him and how much I am still in love with him.” Lucky , I have to tell you something can we meet tomorrow?”, I told him as he kept driving.
“You can tell it to me now”, he offered. I smiled and shook my head.
“No. I want to do it right this time”, I whispered the last part to myself.
“Your wish.”
